BUILD IT

Our BUILD IT program is a groundbreaking initiative that nurtures the complete development of each student by empowering them to create their own music using cutting-edge technology, regardless of their skill level. In a harmonious blend of mental health support, life coaching, Social Emotional Learning (SEL) core competencies, and academic learning, we provide an unparalleled educational experience.

Diverging from traditional music programs that emphasize performing pre-existing compositions, our BUILD IT program ignites the spark of creative expression through a unique focus on music creation. Students are encouraged to craft their own musical masterpieces, drawing from their thoughts, beliefs, and emotions. This inventive process, known as Music Production, is a rarity in both primary and secondary school music programs, setting our approach apart.

By intertwining music production, social-emotional learning, and academic subjects such as Computer Science, ELAR, Math, and Arts, we cultivate a diverse and enriching educational environment. Through engaging activities and events, students have the opportunity to demonstrate their learning in each course, fostering essential life skills and mental well-being. Our program enhances their creativity, problem-solving abilities, communication, sense of community, and collaboration, while also promoting self-awareness, empathy, and sound decision-making.

Join us in this vibrant, friendly, and creatively charged journey where we help students unlock their full potential and discover the joy of learning through the universal language of music.

Academic Value

Taking time to appreciate music is a reward on its own. For teachers and parents trying to help children succeed, that time could also improve Math, Computer Science, Arts, and ELAR skills. Per Science Daily, students who take music courses score significantly better on Math, Science and English exams than their non-musical peers.

Below are examples of academic value our program correlates with:

  • Learning music improves math skills because at some level all music is math. Through beats, counts and measures in a song, math entertains and teaches younger students while composing music with our music tech offerings.

  • Our journaling activities aim to improve ELAR skills, in addition, enhance self-reflection, creative expression and stress management.

  • Receptive and expressive vocabulary, self-articulation and comprehension naturally expands and becomes exciting to students while creating and composing their own music.
