COLLEGE LIGHTS AND BEATS (COLAB)

Through COLAB, we help college students create an identity as a music creator then provide a platform for them to compete against other fellow students in a tournament-style competition.

Traditionally, [beat battles] showcase competitors facing off as their beats are played. However, the contestants do not engage one another. Although the audience may cheer for their favorite student, they are not experiencing the full engagement possible during the performance and the producers are not leaving the desired impression on the audience.

Our solution is the creation of our state-of-the-art light show, to strengthen each producers’ music showcase and provide the audience with a “total experience” from a full production. This enhancement allows producers to participate in the transformation of a simple beat battle into a league competition. It is no longer just a battle, it is the “March Madness” of beats. The goal is to be identified as the top ranked producer (or MVP) of college music producers. Through the COLAB, we track students personal scores and the schools overall Points Per Round (PPR) score to see how a schools’ music production compares to other colleges.
